February 27, 2010 News: The Vancouver and Whistler Olympics have been delightful! Congratulations to the many United States athletes that are bringing a record number of medals home.

For my money, there is nothing like the snowboard cross. Four racers are released out the the gates, and fight for position and dominance over high rolling, winding terrain and a final drop off! Nice job Seth Wescott for capturing the gold in the snowboard cross for two consecutive olympics. Bummer dude for "show-boat" Lindsey Jacobellis who hit a gate and lost her opportunity for redemption, and any medal this time around.

Shaun White again dominated the half-pipe event, with soaring jumps, inversions and rotations to demand another Olympic gold medal. Did you see Jeret "speedy" Peterson hit his hurricane jump? Unbelievable, and landed him a silver medal.

Thanks Bodie Miller for bringing an improved attitude and amazing performances, worthy of gold, silver and bronze medals in the Alpine skiing events! Way to go Lindsey Vonne and Julia Mancuso for also bringing home medals in the Alpine events.

Thanks Apolo Ohno for bringing your competitive and athletic talent to the short track races and showing your mature attitude and appreciation, no matter the outcome. Nice job Hannah Kearney for winning gold in the freestyle mogals event, after an all-out final run.

Like everyone else, I have decided that 2010 will be the year to get in great shape, really ramping up my game. Local News: I am very excited about the upcoming season for the Seattle Mariners. Our pitching should be amazing with King Felix (5 year contract) and newly aquired Cliff Lee. Offensively, the bases should be alive and hopping with Ichiro and Chone Figgins. Also new to the batting lineup is Milton Bradley. I am not sure, but I think Jack Zduriencik may still have a couple more trades up his sleeve. Janet and I have great tickets to a number of games. It should be fun!

Next year should be positive for the Seahawks too, with new coach Pete Caroll and John Schneider (from Green Bay) as General Manager.
