July News: I returned from my annual July backpacking trip just in time to experience the heat wave in Seattle. Personally, I like the heat. It makes the local and mountain lakes warmer and more inviting for swimming, which is a very seasonal treat. All I ask is that the air conditioning in my car continues without fail. It adds to the joy of driving places. Check out my photos of mason lake backpacking.

Speaking of treats, if you can bare the heat, local raspberries are on the trailing end, but boy are they sweet! Tasty, organic raspberries can be found in the Redmond Valley. See: The South 47 Farm

Festivals-Festivals-Festivals! Festival season is here. Some big, upcoming events worth mentioning, are the Bellevue arts and crafts fair, this weekend, July 28-30, and the Seafair Seattle Torchlight parade, Saturday, July 29th.
